Mytravelpass

Mytravelpass is a Welsh Government run scheme whereby any young person aged 16 - 21 can recieve at least a third off all bus travel in Wales!

All you have to do is apply on online here and the pass will be with you in 10 working days. Once you have received your pass, just show it to the driver on your bus!

All you need to apply is a Welsh address and a suitable photograph to upload.

Travelling Between Campuses

The nearest bus stops to Glyntaff campus are on Cardiff Road running the 132 bus service to Cardiff and Merthyr. Buses stop on Llantwit Road immediately outside the Treforest campus running the 100 bus service to Pontypridd and Talbot Green.

Train

The main train stations are Treforest and Pontypridd. All lines service both of these stations. 

To plan a train journey, visit Traveline Cymru and select ‘train only’.

Travelling Between Campuses

Both Treforest and Glyntaff campuses are within 10 minutes walking distance of the railway station at Treforest, from which a regular service on the Valley Line network connects to Cardiff, Newport, Baglan and other mainline destinations via Cardiff Central.

Travelling Between Campuses

The National Cycle Route 8 runs directly past the Glyntaff campus and links with the Taff Trail Route 8 which connects to Cardiff Atrium and Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama campuses to the south or Merthyr Tydfil College campus to the north. Lockable bike shed, locker and shower facilities are available on both campuses, ask at reception for more details. Using a combination of Route 4 and route 47 it is possible to get across to Newport via Caerphilly. See the Sustrans link for further details.

Walking Information

 The most direct route from Treforest campus to Glyntaff is:-

- Leave Treforest campus via the Brook Street entrance, and turn right down Brook Street.

- Cross over the road and at the end turn left so that you are walking towards the station.

- Go into the station and cross over the railway using the pedestrian bridge.

- Once out of the station, cross over the road and walk down Castle Street (side street with Pink Shop on the corner).

- At the end of the road, cross over (Caution: Local residents have indicated this crossing point as one where extra care should be taken) the street and use the pedestrian crossing over the River Taff.

- Once over the river, turn left following the footpath alongside the river.

- Cross over the road at the end, and bear right so that you cross the closed slip roads.

- Follow the path up through the grass verge, and at the top of this small hill, cross over the road, and take the hard right turn into Cemetery Road.

- The Glyntaff campus is on the right-hand side.

Car Parking

The Student and Visitor Car Park on the Treforest campus is located opposite the main entrance to the University on Llantwit Road. There are no student parking facilities (other than those with disabilities) on the actual campus.

We would like to remind all students that the University cannot guarantee a parking space due to limited spaces being available.
